Authors I Adore
Cara Dee
Dee writes a variety of contemporary MM, MF, and even FF romance. I love her writing because she does an amazing job at creating layered, complex characters and dynamics. Many of her books feature BDSM, hurt comfort, neurodivergent representation, and found family. Pretty much all her books are in the same universe and character crossover is heavily featured. I recommend starting with The Game series.
Dee got her start writing Twilight fanfiction on her blog in 2012. She has since published dozens of books and has a cult following. I will drop everything to read a new book when it comes out.
Kiki Clark
Clark is an MM romance writer with contemporary and paranormal romances. Big, protective, and possessive men, hurt comfort, and found family are key features through many of Clark’s books. Clark creates loveable characters and interesting story lines. Several of her series are within the same universe and have overlapping characters, however each series can be read as a standalone. I recommend the Kincaid Pack series for a paranormal/shifter romance. I recommend the Leather & Chrome series for a contemporary motorcycle club series that heavily features daddy kink. Both series are in my top 10 and I highly recommend.
Shannon Mae
Mae is my go to when I am looking for light-hearted, funny, and spicy. Mae is a paranormal MM romance writer whose writing style leans towards outrageously goofy. Hellhounds of Paradise Falls is an equally parts silly and spicy series of a family of hellhounds finding their mates. In the same universe, Demonic Disasters and Afterlife Adventures follows demons and angels as they find their mates. Within these two series, Mae created a fully fleshed out and fresh take on the paranormal genre. I hope to see more series in this universe.
Books I Keep Rereading
Hurt Me, Daddy and Comfort Me, Daddy by Misha Horne
The Brat & The Beast series is my go-to comfort read. When I am sick, sad, or having a stressful time I find my way back to Logan and Caleb. I usually don’t like books about high school students (thats just too young) and I don’t usually like sports romances, BUT this series is just perfection. It is all about the hurt comfort, domestic discipline, and personal growth. Logan is a jock with a bad home situation close to losing his scholarship. Caleb is a nerd in soft sweaters that sees what Logan really needs. Logan use to bully Caleb, but now Caleb is larger than Logan and is just what Logan needs. Horne has me in an absolute choke hold for these characters (even the side characters!). Highly recommend. Easily my #1 series.
Bull’s Boy by Kiki Clark
Bull’s Boy is a standalone contemporary MM romance featuring size difference, bi awakening, found family, and a big protective teddy bear. Very low angst but high heat. Every time I reread this book it feels like putting on a big comfy sweater.
