Spouse performance review

It’s that time of years again, annual peer reviews! …well, it is at my company at least. The once-a-year activity of assigning a 1-5 rating on co-workers’ skills and abilities. Now listen, I see a lot of value in proving feedback and creating open dialogue on areas that need improvement. I do not mind the goal of the annual peer review process. I just kind of hate the difficult to interpret questions. ”Does this person anticipate challenges, manage commitments proactively, and model accountability for others?” … yes? Meets expectations, 3⭐️.

So here I am, dissecting my experience with 11 coworkers from over the past year, and it reminded me of an episode of Bobs Burgers where Bob tries to give his wife, Linda, a performance review. It, understandably, did not go well. But what if you did do an annual review for your spouse. Would they meet expectations?

Rating guide

⭐️ - does not, does not try
⭐️⭐️ - sometimes does, tries but is lacking
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - consistently does, meets expectations
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - always does, frequently exceeds expectations
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - role models behavior
